Taking a new brand across the city

Taking a new brand across the city

Taking a new brand across the city

Bristol Dockyards, home of SS Great Britain, was entering a new chapter. With a new identity, a new museum and a summer offer for families, there was plenty to put in front of the city.

Mondevo worked with the team to translate their new brand guidelines into outdoor campaign creative for summer 2026, promoting the SS Great Britain Experience, the new museum and Kids Go Free campaign.

The Challenge

A new identity needs to work beyond the brand guidelines.

Bristol Dockyards needed campaign assets that felt unmistakably part of its new brand while communicating clearly across very different placements. From bus rears and billboards to harbourside hoardings, each design had a different space to fill and a different opportunity to catch someone’s attention.

The brief was to keep the campaign vibrant, consistent and easy to understand wherever people encountered it.

The Strategy

We focused on making the new brand work in the real world, adapting the creative to each format while keeping the campaign connected.

Working Within the New Identity
Used the supplied brand guidelines to create campaign assets that carried the new Bristol Dockyards identity confidently into outdoor advertising.

Designing for Each Placement
Adapted layouts to suit the proportions and viewing conditions of each format, giving the campaign messages a clear hierarchy across large billboards, bus rears and smaller posters.

Connecting the City to the Site
Carried the campaign creative through to harbourside hoardings and a building banner, creating a consistent presence around the attraction as well as across Bristol.

Supporting the Summer Campaign
Created a coordinated suite of assets promoting the SS Great Britain Experience, its new museum and the Kids Go Free summer offer.

The Outcome

Bristol Dockyards’ summer campaign appeared across the city on bus rears, 6-sheets and 48-sheets, with the creative extended into signage around the museum itself.

Together, the assets gave the team a consistent campaign across its outdoor placements, supporting a summer that brought a new museum and a new identity to public attention.

"Our brief was nailed first time - vibrant, on-brand designs that work brilliantly together across placements for our summery outdoor ads.

We couldn't be happier with the campaign and can't wait to work with Mondevo again.”

What This Means for Culture & Heritage Brands

Launching a new identity is only the beginning. The next challenge is making it work wherever people meet your brand.

For visitor attractions, outdoor campaigns need to communicate quickly, give people a reason to visit and feel connected to the experience on site. Thoughtful design across every placement helps turn a set of adverts into one recognisable and impactful campaign.
